What we’re aiming for

Thriving Minds Collective Ltd, trading as The Maidstone Psychologists, wants this site to be usable whatever device, browser or assistive technology you’re using. We’ve built it against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

Steps we’ve taken

• Semantic HTML5 throughout, so headings, lists and landmarks are structured in a way assistive technology can read correctly.
• Every part of the navigation, including the mobile menu and the FAQ accordions, can be operated by keyboard alone.
• A skip link at the top of each page lets keyboard users jump past repeated navigation straight to the content.
• Visible focus outlines on interactive elements, so it’s always clear where keyboard focus currently is.
• Text and button colour contrast checked against WCAG 2.1 AA thresholds.
• Labelled form fields with clear error messages, including on the get-started questionnaire.
• Text remains usable when resized up to 200 per cent in the browser.
• The layout has been checked across mobile, tablet and desktop.

Where we might still fall short

We check the site regularly and fix what we find, but a self-assessment can’t guarantee every page meets every criterion at every moment. If something doesn’t work the way it should, tell us rather than working around it.

Technical detail

The site is built with HTML5, CSS and JavaScript, and has been tested against common screen readers, including NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver, as part of this WCAG 2.1 AA self-assessment.
